FAQ
What do I need before learning how to ride a motorcycle?
First, you need to know how to ride a bicycle. Then, you need to obtain a BC Class 6L or 8L motorcycle license by taking the ICBC motorcycle knowledge test (Computer test) at ICBC licensing center. The test fee is $15.00. When you get your Class 6L or 8L learner, then you can register with us for training.
What is my journey to get a full motorcycle license BC?
Your path to a full motorcycle license BC starts with passing the Class 6 knowledge test, followed by the Motorcycle Skill Test (MST) or Motorcycle Skill Assessment (MSA), and then the Road Test. For a GLP (Class 8) license, an additional Road Test is required to upgrade to a Class 6 motorcycle license BC.
Do you provide a helmet and motorcycle? What is the motorcycle size? And can I use my own motorcycle?
We provide the use of a street legal motorcycle for your training. Our motorcycle is good for beginner and usually is between 150cc to 400cc. If you already got a motorcycle and you prefer, you can use your own motorcycle for training. We also have a limited number of helmets and gloves, however, due to personal hygiene, we recommended you prepared your own helmet and gloves for the training.
What is MST and MSA? Is MSA easier than MST?
The Motorcycle Skill Test (MST), provided by ICBC, is a critical step in your motorcycle license BC journey. It assesses parking lot riding skills. The Motorcycle Skill Assessment (MSA) follows the same format but is conducted by an authorized school. The Assessment Officer will conduct the MSA after you have completed all the training sessions in a certified group course. Passing MSA is not guaranteed. For more information, please read this.
How busy is your One-on-One schedule? How fast can I start to train?
We offer flexible scheduling primarily during weekday evenings and weekends. Summer is peak season, so register early through our motorcycle course registration page to secure your spot on a first come, first serve.
How do I register? Can I just call you and book a training schedule?
Registration is required before scheduling training. Visit our website (or click here), follow the instructions, and send us the form with a copy of your motorcycle license BC learner's permit.
Can I just rent your motorcycle for MST or Road test?
We do not rent out our motorcycles to the public. Our motorcycles are reserved for student training and motorcycle license BC tests. We encourage you to take our motorcycle course to increase your chances of success.
